Lamson & Sessions Recalls Floor Electrical Outlets Due to Shock or Electrocution Hazards

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Carlon® Drop-In Floor Boxes

Units: About 100,000

Manufacturer: Lamson & Sessions, of Cleveland, Ohio

Hazard: The recalled floor boxes are wired incorrectly resulting in reverse polarity. This poses a shock or electrocution hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Lamson & Sessions has received one report of an incident with the recalled floor boxes. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The drop-in floor boxes are used to provide an extra electrical outlet in the floor. They were sold under the Carlon® brand name and have a brass finish cover approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter. "Carlon" is stamped into the plastic above the receptacle and the model number is located to the left of the receptacle. Model numbers E971FBDI and E971FBDIB are included in this recall.

Sold at: Homecenters, hardware retailers and electrical distributors nationwide between January 2005 and March 2007 for about $35.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should immediately unplug anything that is plugged into the floor box and contact Lamson & Sessions to determine if their floor box is included in the recall. Consumers with recalled units will receive a free repair.

Hunter's View Expands Recall of Safety Harnesses Sold with Tree Stands, Also Recalls Harnesses Provided as Replacements

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Safety Harnesses Sold with Tree Stands and Harnesses Provided as Replacements

Units: About 200,000 additional harnesses (about 500,000 were recalled in April 2005.)

Manufacturer: Hunter's View, of Peoria, Ill.

Hazard: The harnesses could fail during use, resulting in a hunter falling from the tree stand and suffering serious injuries or death.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recall involves all 2004 and 2005 model year Fall Arrest Systems (FAS), or harnesses with "Model Year 2004" or "Model Year 2005" printed on a white Hunter's View label attached to the harness or the tree strap. The recall includes all model number harnesses sold during these years. The recall also includes replacement harnesses provided to consumers as a result of the previous recall.

Sold by: Hunting and sporting good stores nationwide beginning in January 2004 for between $30 and $300.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these harnesses immediately and contact Hunter's View to receive a free replacement harness. Consumers who previously participated in this recall are being directly contacted about this recall. As an alternative to the free replacement harness, the firm also is offering an upgraded harness at a reduced cost.

Tequila Rose Distilling Co. Recalls Gel Candles Due To Fire and Burn Hazards

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream candle sets

Units: About 60,000

Distributor: McCormick Distilling Co., doing business as Tequila Rose Distilling Co., of Weston, Mo.

Hazard: The martini glass containing the gel candle can break while the candle is burning, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received three reports of glasses breaking while the candle was burning. No fires or injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled gel candles came in the Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream set, a Valentine's Day gift set. The candle has pink gel and is contained in a martini glass. The words "Tequila Rose" and "Made in China" are printed on the glass. The gift set also includes a 750 milliliters bottle of Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream liqueur.

Sold at: Licensed alcohol beverage retail stores nationwide from January 2007 through March 2007 for about $20.

Manufactured in: China (candle)

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the gel candle and contact the firm for instructions on how to get a free replacement candle.

Infant Bouncer Seats Recalled Due to Frame Failure

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of product: Infant Bouncer Seats

Units: About 1,400

Manufacturer: Oeuf LLC, of Brooklyn, N.Y

Hazard: The tubular metal frame can break, posing a fall hazard to infants in the seat.

Incidents/Injuries: Oeuf LLC has received six reports of frames breaking. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Oeuf infant bouncer seats with padded canvas supported by a tubular steel frame. The canvas seat is brown with white, blue or pink stripes. A three-point safety belt is attached to the canvas. Model number 2005 is printed on the label.

Sold at: Juvenile specialty stores and Web retailers nationwide from September 2006 through March 2007 for about $100.

Manufactured in: China

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the infant seat immediately and contact Oeuf LLC to receive a repair kit.
